Introduction to Archery

There are myriad of sports available in our planet. Most of these sports use ball as the main part of the game. In Asia, some evidences suggest that Archery started even before or earlier 10,000 BC. But according to some studies, the sport has shown some evidences that it was used around the mentioned period of time. In our modern generation, Archery is largely competitive sport and recreational platform.

About Archery

Archer is the word used to describe a person who participates in archer while toxophilite is the word used to call a person who is fanatic and expert at archery. Just like most of the sports, archery requires determination, accuracy, focus, repetition and control. This sport can be played by everyone regardless of age, gender, ability and it is widely loved and played by people from both developed and emerging countries.

Basically, to score in this sport, player just needs to shoot the target using a stringed bow. And to compute for the total scores, you just need to add up the number of points based on where the arrow hit the target, 10 is the highest score for an arrow hitting the gold ring while one point is the lowest score hitting outer the white ring and no score for arrows missing the target at all. In professional competition, players must be able to shoot 72 arrows in just 12 phases with the total of points depends the players ranking.

Basic rules of the game

Just like any other sports, archery is also bound by rules and regulations. To give you an idea on how this sport is being monitored, here are some of the basic rules of the game; players must use the prescribed equipment in the competition to avoid cheating and unfair scenarios. Players need to shoot the target in two minutes and four minutes for an end os six arrows.

One-Arm Dumbbell Row Back

The main objective of this exercise is to strengthen your middle back. When playing archery,n players use shoulders with the help of the muscles of your back. Hence, increasing the strength and force of your back will allow you to control your shots. Basically for you to do this, you just have tonpalce your leg and bend your trso in line with the floor with your upper body. Secondly, keep your back straight as you pick p the dumbell with the other hand and keep the other one straight.

One-Arm Side Laterals Shoulder

Focusing on to the target in doing archery requires strength in your shoulder muscles. Thus, exercising you shoulders is a key factor in being successful in the game. This exercise is very basic as you just have to hold a dumbell using your one hand while the other hand should hold onyo a surface such as a table or bence. Do it repetitively and you’ll get the right strngth for your arm.

Pull ups

Another exercise to strengthen your shoulder and arms is pull ups. This is one of the most known exercises across the world. Hence, it is indeed very helpful in archery. While this exercise can be a tough exercise, it is considered as an excellent workout for atheletes. Simply, just grab the bar with your hands and pull yourself up until your chest is in line with the bar. You can do this repetoitively to practice and to get yourself get used to it.

Dumbbell Alternate Bicep curl

Shoulders are not only the muscles or part of your body that need to be strengthen. Your biceps should also be excercised to help you to accurately and strongly pull higher draw weights in archery.

Bench Dips Arms

After biceps, it is now turn for your triceps to be strengthen using bench dips arms. This can be done without any equipment such as dumbbell. Place a table behind you ald looking away from it, you hold onto the tip of your hands. Your arms must be fully extended forward. Then you should lower your body down at the elbow til your upper arm are at a 90 degree angle.

Archery is indeed not an easy sport. But it is fun and exciting.
